As Christmas time approaches the Gingerbread Man is a great unit to learn in the pre-k and kindergarten classrooms. There are a lot of fun and engaging activities you can do to integrate this theme throughout all subjects, so your students can develop skills in all ten domains.

During this unit, students learn to predict what is going to happen to gingerbread man as they read all the different versions of the story. Students learn the characters of the story, the setting, and the plot. Since the gingerbread man is on their favorite stories, young learners enjoy baking and decorating their own gingerbread cookies. That's why students have a bakery in the dramatic-play center for this unit.
